Rome wasn't built in a day
I made way too much food. I just have to remember...baby steps....baby steps...he'll eventually want to have more than two spoonfuls. Maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow...but soon.

To: Dad From: Uncle Ian
We eagerly opened this package.
Caleb: "It smells like Chocolate."
Last year's birthday bunny melted. This one survived the trip from California with a minor facial fracture. Dad went to get the camera.
Josh took a better picture than I did.
Josh's picture got the okay from Dad.
Caleb: "It smells like Chocolate."
Nate had a couple things to say about the exquisite taping job. He said, "careful, Esther," a couple of times, too.

Batman, the basketball star, and Princessman
I heard Esther cry out today, "Princessman to the rescue!" Joshua's last basketball game was today. The season ended on a high note according to Josh. He scored a basket today. He's outside now shooting hoops. Caleb rotates his playtime between his superhero Legos and dressing up as batman. Right now he is sitting next to me looking at his Lego Batman visual dictionary while still wearing the batman costume. He did an exercise video with me in his costume as well.
Bib for Friend's baby shower
Usually, I make random bibs for people, but in my quest to be a little less random, I asked my friend if she had a theme for her nursery. She said she was using "the Runaway Bunny."
So...
I wish the mother bunny's eye was a little less evil looking, but all-in-all I'm happy with it.

Successful failure
Success: It looks good.
Failure: I made so many mistakes. If there were directions step by step for what not to do, they would follow exactly what I did.
Oh well. At least it's done.

Caleb's 5
Caleb wanted a Wild Kratts birthday cake that tasted like ice cream. I made him an ice cream cake from a recipe I found online after Nate's ice cream birthday cake disaster almost two years ago. This 10 inch springform pan recipe called for a brownie bottom, Oreos suck in the parimature, layer of ice cream (Caleb requested green ice cream), layer of smashed Oreos and fudge sauce, another layer of ice cream, and whip cream and crushed Oreas on top. It was a success...if I say so myself.
Caleb would spend hours and hours playing superhero Legos if he could. I love his smile. He doesn't do his full blown smile for the camera any more, though. He sings all day long and loves to dress up as black batman, blue batman or Chis Kratt in a creature power suit (vest, gloves, shorts, and snow boots) when he's not playing with Legos.
Joshua's 7
Joshua requested a Cincinnati Reds birthday. He got a Reds shirt, blanket and birthday cake. Grandma from Dallas was in town and helped him and his buddies make gingerbread trains at his birthday party.
He's still a sweet boy, sensitive to how others are feeling. He loves reading nonfiction. He wants to write books about animals when he grows up. He also wants to play some kind of sport when he grows up, but not tennis.
He played in his first basketball game yesterday and loved it.
