What was important? Josh had a happy birthday. He spent the morning before school digging up a dinosaur fossil, a present he got from Grandma Wright. He enjoyed his other presents as well and most especially putting dinosaurs on his birthday cake.
We had a wonderful Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at Nana's house making a play, eating Mexican red and green enchiladas, and participating in a Christmas talent show and program. Joshua played "Jingle Bells" on the piano, Caleb sang a joy school Christmas song, Aunt Heather and I sang "Once in Royal David's City" while Uncle Allen's was on the guitar, Cousin Harlow sang "Hark the Harold Angels Sing," Uncle Ian sang "The First Noel," Nate showed everyone how to properly pick up an object without herniating a disk (like he did a year ago that very night), Grandpa Gibby lead everyone in "Il ai nai," a French carol, Nana sang the Nativity song, and Rebekah played, "the Christmas Song." Nana had us sing other Christmas songs, and Grandpa Gibby finished up with Luke II.
Christmas morning was fun especially watching the boys and Esther open up the gifts they gave each other. In the below picture, Caleb is holding his present from Esther, a sperm whale.
The boys and Esther are holding Umbrellas from Grandma Wright.
Boxing Day brought tons of snow. With Dad's and Uncle Ian's help, the boys built a snow man, something we haven't been able to do yet in Ohio. There wasn't enough snow last year.
We definitely had a wonderful Christmas. We're grateful that Uncle Ian could join us. Esther thought she saw Uncle Ian, who really is in Utah, in sacrament meeting today and was pointing and calling out his name until I stepped out of the chapel.
I personally gained a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ and the atonement's role in my life. There would be no hope without the atonement of Jesus Christ. His is most definitely the Prince of Peace.
