Samuel

8 lbs. 6 oz; 20 inches

I'm kind of hoping I'll get back into the habit of blogging.  If I don't get to birthdays or family reunions, at least I'm blogging about the birth of my fourth child, Samuel.   No nickname has stuck yet...besides "baby."  Esther calls him baby friend.

He's two weeks old!  I feel like he and I are winning the battle.  Battle against what?  I don't know exactly...nursing...the craziness of having a newborn.  We are winning, though, whatever it is.

I ended up getting an induction.  Who would have thought!?  I'd been dilated to a four or close to a four for at least three weeks.  When I checked into the hospital, I had finally reached five cm.   They broke my water at 1:40 in the afternoon.  Samuel came two hours later.  Nothing to it.  It was far from a comfortable experience.  It hurt worse than a paper cut in lemon juice, but...nothing to it.

Caleb's Birthday

Happy Brithday, Caleb! I've having blog formatting difficulties. I think if I knew HTML or had a little more time to figure things out I would, but... Happy Birthday, Caleb! Caleb likes all things Batman, race cars, Thomas the tank engine, animals, dinosours...It's hard to tell what things he genuinely likes or just likes to like because Josh likes those things. Caleb definitely loves Batman, though. Hence the pajama pants and cake. The bottom of the cake pays homage to Superman, though, at Caleb's request.  I know the bat symbol is never blue, but I had a momentary brain lapse.  Caleb never said anything, though.  Perhaps he didn't notice.  He loved the cake.
